Day 61: Max Meadows, VA

Stop 36 : Max Meadows, VA

Today's 162 mile hop took us down the West side of the Blue Ridge Mountains into the Southwestern tail of Virginia. Max Meadows is a stop-off on our way the Great Smokey Mountain National Park.

The most interesting thing today was the huge number of busses on the highway  and the long lines of Boy Scouts waiting to get into the restrooms at the rest stops. A little bit of research revealed that the National Jamboree starts today close by in its new home at The Summit, West Virginia. We've been adopted here by a woman from St. Louis who's husband has parked her here for 2 weeks while he is on the staff. She's been on the staff in past years but the new site apparently has much more stringent physical requirements and she didn't make the cut.
