Day 30: College Park, MD

Stop 25 / State 14:  College Park, MD

Kind of a crazy 165 mile trip today.  We just had scattered clouds but it was very gusty.  Very busy roads all the way and a route that required many lane changes.

Kristen took this picture of the Potomac River as we crossed:

Of course, the Potomac marked the dividing line between Virginia and Maryland:

Finally, today's trailer picture (took it from farther away so it doesn't "block all of the landscape")

We had the last bit of fallout from that pseudo-tornedo in the parking lot last night.  Apparently, our attempts to get out of the lot created transactions that were suspicious enough that the bank put a hold on our credit card.  Easy to clear up but a little embarrassing when it happens.  If I hadn't left my phone in the trailer when we went to the store, I would have gotten an instant text from the bank.  I could have responded and immediately unblocked the card.

We're in College Park for 3 nights.  We're taking it easy this afternoon but plan to spend the next couple of days seeing as much of Washington, DC as possible.

  1. That's a lovely trailer picture!

Are you driving to the capital mall, or taking the train/metro? I remember the trains being pretty good (and you don't have to find or pay for parking).

    1. We're close to a metro station where parking is free on Saturday and Sunday. We may supplement that with an on and off tour bus ticket. We'll see. It may make more sense to just hop back on the metro.
